Core Concepts¶
Canonical game¶
A Game is the stable SteamDeals representation of a purchasable title. game_01J2M4T5K7HADES2 can link to many store-specific products. Editions and bundles are separate games connected by parent_game_id or includes_game_ids.
Offer and price observation¶
An Offer is a store listing for one game in one region. A Price is an immutable observation: it records list price, sale price, currency, availability, and when it was observed. The current offer price is the latest valid observation.
Deal¶
A Deal is an active offer that passes the Deals Engine policy: it must be purchasable, have a positive discount or be at its verified historical low, and have a fresh observation. deal_score from 0–100 combines discount depth, price-low proximity, freshness, and store confidence.
Region and currency¶
region is an ISO country code such as US, GB, or DE. Prices are returned in the local merchant currency by default. Set currency=USD only when conversion is available; original_amount remains the merchant price.
User-owned resources¶
Wishlists, alerts, notification preferences, and exports belong to an OAuth user. API-key-only applications can read public catalog and pricing data but cannot act for a user. See authorization.
